
Jamie Moffatt
Jamie studied at the Elder Conservatorium of Music from 2007-2009 under the tutelage of Robert Dawe and Ros Martin. They now are a student of Kyle Stegall
In 2010 Jamie began working with the State Opera of South Australia performing in the chorus of their productions of ‘Moby Dick’ and ‘La Sonnambula.’ After a hiatus with the company Jamie made their return in 2018, and has since regularly performed in the chorus. In 2019 they made their principal debut with the company in the role of Hatter in ‘Boojum!’ and since have also performed the role of Il Commissionario in ‘La Traviata’, Bob Beckett in ‘HMS Pinafore’, and 2nd Armed Man in ‘The Magic Flute.’
Jamie is one of three featured vocal soloists on the soundtrack to the award-winning hit 2025 video-game Hollow Knight: Silksong.
In 2020 Jamie was in the Adelaide Festival’s production of Romeo Castellucci’s staging of Mozart’s Requiem and has since performed in the Adelaide Festival productions of The Golden Cockerel, Verdi’s Requiem, and The Nightingale and Other Fables.
In 2013 Jamie began work with The Australian Voices ensemble, performing in the premières of Gordon Hamilton’s Choral Symphonies ‘Ghosts in the Orchestra’ and ‘The Trillion Souls’; as one of six guests of invitation in the ‘La Voix Du Sud’ festival in Noumea, New Caledonia; the New York Off Broadway Première of the Choral Theatre work ‘Boombox’; and the national tour of the Choral Theatre work ‘MOON’. In 2020 they were commissioned by The Australian Voices as one of the composers for the “Far and Near” project, creating the composition ‘The Hour and the Clime’
In late 2009 they were offered work with the Co-Opera company in a touring production of Carmen, and for 8 years were consistently involved in Co-Opera’s major national touring ventures and international tours of ‘The Marriage of Figaro’, ‘Acis and Galatea’, and ‘Die Fledermaus’, including an appearance at the Maifestpeile in Wiesbaden, Germany.
In 2011 Jamie joined the Festival Statesmen Chorus, and with them has won national titles and 2 gold medals at the World choir games.
In 2017 Jamie founded Elephant in the Room productions, a company that aims to produce ‘art with a social conscience’. Through this they produced and performed in a production of Bizet’s Carmen which was also run as a fundraiser for the Zhara Foundation to help with their work combatting domestic violence. Their premiere work with Elephant in the Room, ‘Midnight Sun’ a concert of Icelandic music also featured Jamie’s original writing in the form of 13 short spoken word pieces re-telling the nordic myths of Odin, Freyja Thor, Loki et. al. Midnight Sun was featured in the Festival of Voices in Hobart and has performed multiple sell out shows in Canberra and Adelaide.
Throughout all this time Jamie has also worked as a freelance singing and elocution instructor, a conductor for choirs, and as a freelance singer for corporate and private entertainment. Since 2009 Jamie has yearly produced and performed in multiple shows per year in the Adelaide Fringe Festival, and toured self-produced cabaret shows.
